How to fix a soggy or eroding yard

Why it happens here

Between clay soils, sloped lots, and heavy Arkansas downpours, water often has nowhere good to go. It pools in low spots, runs off in sheets, and carves channels that wash out mulch, soil, and sometimes foundations.

The usual fixes

The right solution depends on your property, but common ones include French drains to carry water away underground, regrading to redirect the flow, dry creek beds and catch basins, and erosion control on slopes. Done well, the fix disappears into the landscape instead of looking like a construction project.

Fix it once, and make it look good

Drainage isn't just plumbing โ€” it's part of the design. We correct the water problem and integrate the solution with your planting, stonework, and grading so the yard both works and looks intentional. See our drainage & erosion work.

๐Ÿ’ก Drainage is frequently the entry point to a bigger improvement. Many WeCare clients start by solving one thing, then see what the whole property could become. See what a complete landscape transformation looks like in Central Arkansas โ†’
